North Receiving Station

Funding Notice:

Construction of the United City of Yorkville’s “Northwest Elevated Water Storage Tank” and the United City of Yorkville’s Lake Michigan “North Receiving Station” projects were financed by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF).

The “Northwest Elevated Water Storage Tank” project is located off Eldamain Road, approximately 1600 feet north of Corneils Road. The “North Receiving Station” project is located at 3099 Lehman Crossing.

The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The “Northwest Elevated Water Storage Tank” project consists of the construction of a 2,000,000-gallon elevated water storage tank with a top capacity line at 810 feet, as well as the installation of approximately 150 feet of 20-inch, and 1,880 feet of 16-inch ductile iron water main, site grading, paving, and other site improvements. The project also includes approximately 1,840 feet of offsite 16-inch ductile iron water main and related appurtenances. When completed, it will allow the City to receive Lake Michigan water and improve system reliability for area residents and businesses in the United City of Yorkville.

The “North Receiving Station” project consists of the construction of a pressure adjusting station, the associated pressure reducing and future pressure boosting components, chemical feed equipment, associated piping, electrical, and controls. Once complete, water supplied from the DuPage Water Commission (DWC) will be properly adjusted for pressure and chemical dosage, as applicable, to then enter the City’s water distribution system to meet water pressure and quality requirements.

SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities with the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.

Project Scope:

This project is located on Lehman Crossing in the Grande Reserve neighborhood.

The project includes the site preparation of a 2.77-acre site including mass grading, utility installation including water main, booster pump station, generator, and meter building, and site restoration. The site will service to receive, store and distribute water from the new Lake Michigan transmission line.

Impacts to traffic should be minimal for the building and water main construction.
