Youth Softball Leagues

Important Change

Join the Yorkville Parks & Recreation Department for this year’s Softball League! The program is scheduled to begin practices the week of April 1st and conclude games by June 29th. The Softball season will include a 10-12 game schedule depending on the division. Practices will be held 2x a week Monday-Saturdays for the first 3 weeks. A shirt and socks will be included with the registration fee. Please note, dates and dynamics for the program are subject to change as needed.

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is continuing our partnership with softball organizations from the neighboring communities of but not limited to Somonauk, Plano, & Hinkley Big Rock. We are excited to continue this unique recreational league for grades 1-8 (ages 8U-14U) Please note that travel to neighboring communities will be required for ALL softball leagues with this program. Games will likely begin the weekend of May 4th and conclude the end of June. Please note softball divisions are based off players grade rather than players’ age. The Spring Season will be based off the players CURRENT grade in school. 1st/2nd Grade & 5th/6th Grade Softball Games are Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays. 3rd/4th Grade & 7th/8th Grade Softball Games are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & possibly Saturdays. Players are supposed to register with the town that they attend for school.

Note To Players not living within the Yorkville School District

Players outside Yorkville School District boundaries should register with the organization, school, or district in the town or city of residence per the rules and regulations of the travel softball league. Please email if you need the contact information for the softball organization within your community.

Included in Registration Fee: Team Jersey & Socks

Coaches will be given catchers equipment, balls, bats and helmets to be utilized and shared amongst the team.   Each player should supply their own glove.

Suggested Equipment:

  • Baseball Pants
  • Appropriate sized bat
  • Batting helmet
  • Cleats (No metal cleats allowed) 

Payment Plan Information

Payment plans are available for spring athletic leagues which allows families to split their total registration fees into three payments. Payments are charged automatically via a credit card provided during the registration process. The first payment will occur at the time of registration. The second and third(final) payments will occur on February 19th and March 11th for softball and T-Ball through 8th Grade Baseball.  Payment plan participants must register during the scheduled registration period in order to be eligible to participate. All payment plans are subject to the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Automatic Payment agreement (for more information go to Final payments must be made by the scheduled start date of each league in order to avoid suspension or withdrawal from the program. Please pay close attention to the credit card chosen for automatic payment during the registration process as our system DOES NOT automatically delete old or compromised credit cards. When in doubt choose the "Make 3 payments-New Credit Card" option when choosing your payment arrangement.

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department will share game cancellations and announcements through an online system. You can view the program status online, sign up for text and/or email alerts, or download the mobile app.
