Join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department for this year's Spring/Fall Softball Leagues! Practices will be held two times a week Monday-Saturday for the first three weeks. A shirt and socks will be included with the registration fee for these leagues. Please note that dates and dynamics for the program are subject to change as needed. This league is designed for girls in High School during the late summer months. Games will be played against teams that also register within the league with a tournament at the end of the regular season and will be played mainly on Monday-Thursday in the evening (possibility of Friday and Saturday night games). Players will receive a shirt and socks. Volunteer coaches are needed! Practices will be held Monday-Friday starting early May with games held June through July. 

IMPORTANT SOFTBALL LEAGUE INFORMATION

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is continuing our partnership with softball organizations from the neighboring communities of, but not limited to, Somonauk, Plano, & Hinkley Big Rock. We are excited to continue this unique recreational league for grades 1-8 (Ages 8U-14U). Traveling to neighboring communities will be required for ALL softball leagues with these leagues.

Softball divisions are based off of the player's grade level rather than the player's age. Players are required to register with the town that they attend for school. The Spring Season will be based off of the player's CURRENT grade in school. The Fall Season will be based off of the UPCOMING grade in school. Games for the softball leagues are typically held on the following days for each division:

  • 1/2 Grade & 5/6 Grade: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
  • 3/4 Grade & 7/8 Grade: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (possibly Saturdays)

REGISTER FOR YOUTH SOFTBALL

Registrations for the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department's Youth Softball Leagues are accepted online at Yorkville.il.us/RegisterSoftball. Registrations are taken on a first come, first serve basis. A $10 late fee will be added to all registrations taken after the designated registration deadline as space allows.   • 2026 Youth Spring Softball Registration Dates: January 7 - February 11
  • 2026 High School Spring Softball Registration Dates: January 7 - April 17
  • 2026 Youth Fall Softball Registration Dates: May 26 - June 24
  • 2026 High School Fall Softball Registration Dates: May 26 - June 24

EQUIPMENT

A jersey and socks are included with each registration for the Spring Youth Softball Leagues. A jersey will be included with each registration for the Fall Youth Softball Leagues. Coaches will be given catchers equipment, balls, bats and helmets to be utilized and shared amongst the team. Each player should supply their own glove.

The following items are suggested when registering for any Youth Softball League with Yorkville Parks and Recreation.

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department will share game cancellations and announcements through the RainOut Line online system. Through this update system, you can view the Youth Softball League status, sign up for text and/or email alerts, or download the mobile app all from your fingertips.

PAYMENT PLANS

Payment plans are available for Youth Softball Leagues which allows families to split their total registration fees into separate payments. Payments are charged automatically via a credit card provided during the registration process. Payment plan participants must register during the scheduled registration period in order to be eligible to participate. All payment plans are subject to the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Automatic Payment Agreement. Final payments must be made by the scheduled start date of each league in order to avoid suspension or withdrawal from the program. Please pay close attention to the credit card chosen for automatic payment during the registration process as our system DOES NOT automatically delete old or compromised credit cards.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL LEAGUE UMPIRE OPPORTUNITY

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is looking for qualified individuals age 14+ to officiate baseball or softball games. Applicants do not need to be patched/certified but should have a basic understanding of baseball and/or softball rules.
