Proposed Project

The United City of Yorkville, petitioner, has filed an application requesting rezoning classification. The real property consists of a parcel totaling approximately 4.03 acres and is generally located directly north of East Schoolhouse Road (Illinois Route 126), east of Wing Road, and south of Illinois Route 71. The City is seeking to rezone the property from the B-3 General Business District to the PI Public Institutional District to accommodate the development of a south receiving station building, a standpipe (water tower), and a DuPage Water Commission (DWC) metering building as part of the City’s Lake Michigan water project.

Public Hearing

The public hearing is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the United City of Yorkville, City Hall, located at 651 Prairie Pointe Drive, Yorkville, Illinois 60560.  Remote attendance will also be available via Zoom. All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing and will be given opportunity to be heard.  Any written comments should be addressed to the United City of Yorkville Community Development Department, City Hall, 651 Prairie Pointe Drive, Yorkville Illinois, and will be accepted up to the date of the public hearing.

NOTE: The schedule of meetings is tentative in nature. If a previous meeting is cancelled or a quorum is not established, then all future meetings will be delayed until the next available meeting date. It is important that each reviewing body gets a chance to review the proposal before advancing to the next meeting.
