City Clerk's Office

Purpose

The Clerk's Office of the United City of Yorkville maintains the centralized records of the city, with the exception of police records, which are maintained by the Police Department.

Requesting Public Records (excluding Police Department records)

Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), all public records not exempt under Section 7 of the Act must be made available for inspection or copying. In order to do this, it may be necessary to complete a Freedom of Information Act Request Form (PDF).  Freedom of Information requests can be filed by mail, in person, or via Email.


Police Department Requests

Only


There is a separate Police Department FOIA Form (PDF) for requesting those records maintained by the Police Department.  Requests for information from the police department can be filed in person, by mail, or via Email.

Timeline

The Clerk's Office will respond to the request within 5 business days. Requests being made for commercial purposes will be responded to within 21 business days.
