Privacy Policy for the MYPRD App

1. Information We Collect

When you use the MYPRD App, the City of Yorkville may collect the following types of information:
 
 - Personal Information: Name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, emergency contacts, and other information required for program registration.
 - Payment Information: Payment card details and billing address (processed securely via third-party payment processors).
 - Usage Information: Device type, IP address, operating system, app usage statistics, and interaction logs.

2. How We Use Your Information

The City will use your information to:
 
 - Register participants for recreational programs and events
 - Process payments and issue receipts
 - Communicate with you about registrations, cancellations, updates, and events
 - Maintain internal records and reports
 - Improve the functionality and performance of the app

3. Sharing of Information

The City does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The City may share limited information as needed with:
 
 - Authorized Yorkville Parks and Recreation staff.
 - Third-party service providers (such as payment processors) who assist in operating the app and fulfilling services.
 - Volunteer coaches and authorized contractors of the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department.
 - Government agencies, if required by law.
 

The City will limit the release of information to its third party to information needed for communication and safety purposes. This includes information such as:

-Parent/Guardian Names
 -Parent/Guardian Phone Numbers
 -Parent/Guardian Emails
 -Emergency Contact names and phone numbers provided by the parent or legal guardian. 
 -Allergies or other pertinent medical data disclosed by the parent or legal guardian

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
 
 However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Retention and Deletion of User and Device Data

The City retains personal and device data only for as long as necessary to:
 
 - Provide the services you request
 - Comply with legal, regulatory, or accounting requirements
 - Maintain accurate records for Parks and Recreation operations
 
 User accounts and data will be retained for a minimum of 3 years after the last recorded activity unless a longer retention period is required by law or policy. After this period, data will be securely deleted or anonymized.
 
 You may request deletion of your account or personal information at any time by contacting the City at recreation@yorkville.il.us . Upon verification, we will remove your personal data from our systems, except where retention is required by law or legitimate operational purposes.

6. User Rights and Choices

You have the right to:
 
 - Access, update, or correct your personal information.
 - Request deletion of your information, where applicable.
 - Opt out of non-essential communications.

7. Children's Privacy

The MYPRD App may collect limited personal information about children only as necessary for registration purposes and only with the consent of a parent or guardian. The City does not knowingly collect personal information from children without such consent.

The City reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted in the app and on our website. Your continued use of the MYPRD app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
