The two-story apartment building, located at 1050 Freemont Street, is set to open in March 2018 and will consist of fifty (50) units of affordable senior housing, 33 one-bedroom and 17 two-bedroom dwellings. While all the units in the senior apartment building are aimed at being affordable for area seniors who meet certain income qualifications, the City of Yorkville has established a senior housing assistance program for qualifying tenants for three (3) one-bedroom apartments within Anthony Place.
Eligibility for the City’s Senior Housing Assistance Program requires the head of household be 55 years or older with all other household members being at least 45 years old. Income limits for individual tenants must be $19,200 or less annually, and joint incomes for two person households must be $21,930 or less annually. The Yorkville Senior Housing Assistance Program will arrange financial assistance for tenants by covering a portion of rent and utilities, based on the tenants’ income. Applications will be accepted in-person on a first-come/first-serve basis at City Hall on February 1, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Preference for enrollment in the Senior Housing Assistance Program will be given to Yorkville residents who are Military Veterans, Yorkville residents, and eligible participants through the Illinois Housing Development Authority State Referral Network.
Rental assistance applications can be found on the "Additional Info" link below. After February 1st, a waiting list of eligible applicants will be maintained for the entire 10-year term of the Senior Housing Assistance Program should a unit(s) become available in the future.
