Hometown Days Festival August 29th - September 1st, Beecher Community Park

Save The Date!  The United City of Yorkville Hometown Days Festival scheduled over Labor Day Weekend (Thursday, August 29 – Sunday, September 1) at Beecher Park (908 Game Farm Rd, Yorkville) is just weeks away!  This festival is packed with events and activities the entire family is sure to enjoy including Carnival Wristband Specials (Sat & Sun from 1-5pm), Pet Fest (Sat, Aug 31 from 11am-2pm), Ladies’ Afternoon Out:  Wine Tasting (Sun, Sept 1 from 1-5pm), Hometown Happy Hour (Sat, Aug 31 from 2-6pm), Character Meet & Greets (Sat, Aug 31 from Noon-3pm) as well as an amazing lineup of bands!   Also, the Ultimate Air Dogs Competition is back again and ready to put on an amazing show throughout the weekend!  For a complete list of events and more information go to https://www.yorkville.il.us/459/Hometown-Days-Festival.

Brush Pick-Up, Week of August 26th

During the week of August 26th, the City will be completing brush pick-up. Here's a few reminders to ensure the brush gets collected:
•          Have brush out by 7 am Monday morning
•          Placed parallel to the curb or street in neat stacks
•          No larger than 6 inches in diameter or 10 feet in length
•          No return trips will be made

City Office’s Closed Monday, September 2nd in Observance of Labor Day

City Offices will be closed on Monday, September 2nd.  Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Garbage Delay Week of Labor Day

Garbage Delayed Due to the Labor Day Holiday

Due to Labor Day on Monday September 2nd, garbage pick-up will be delayed by one day that week. For example, if your garbage normally is collected on Monday, it will be collected on Tuesday instead. Normal Friday pick-up will be Saturday. Call Advanced Disposal at 630-587-8282 with any questions.

Park Snapshot - Gilbert Park

Gilbert Park is adventure and relaxation packed into one bite-sized package. This park is located at 700 Morgan Street on the city’s south west side, not far from downtown Yorkville. This “Tree House” themed playground is equipped with a playset filled with fun kids activities, a swing set, and benches that provide great views for all the fun.  This park lot was purchased in 2005 from Dan and Jan Gilbert and is named in their honor.
