City Leaf Pick-Up is Underway!  Crews will make two full passes through the entire city, with the final pickup expected to wrap up during the week of November 17th. 

  • Leaves need to be raked to the curb or shoulder of the road by 7:00am 
  • Please do not include branches, decorations, flowers, straw bales, pumpkins, or yard waste bags.  
  • All yard waste bags will be picked up by Groot on your normal garbage day through December 5th.

Kick off the holiday season with the Yorkville Holiday Celebration on Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22!  This two-day celebration provides fun and holiday cheer for the entire family! Thank you to our Presenting Sponsors D&J Dent Removal and Sports Clips of Yorkville for helping bring Holiday Cheer to Yorkville this year! Are you ready to go walking in a winter wonderland? The United City of Yorkville is thrilled to continue this charming tradition for the 2025 Holiday Season!   The Deck the Trees Holiday Walk is an enchanting display of beautifully decorated trees nestled in the heart of Town Square Park (301 N Bridge St, Yorkville)!  Each tree will be illuminated and then decorated by local businesses, community organizations, or families from right here in Yorkville, and displayed in Town Square from December 1st through the New Year. Come and walk through the beautiful snowflake arches at Town Square and enjoy the beauty of the 30 trees along the path.  Please contact the Recreation Department at Recreation@yorkville.il.us for more details on this event.

City offices will be closed Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th for Thanksgiving.  Normal hours will resume on Monday, December 1st.  

Garbage Pick-Up Delayed Due to Thanksgiving

Due to Thanksgiving, garbage pick-up will be delayed by one day due to Thanksgiving. For example, if your garbage normally is collected on Thursday, it will be collected on Friday instead. Call Groot at 630-892-9294 with any questions.

Santa is checking his list and wants to hear from YOU this Holiday Season! Please send your letter (including age and gender) to Santa by Monday, December 8. Santa will then read your letter and send a response by December 24! All letters should be addressed to:
