The Yorkville Minute - August 2, 2021 Edition

Yorkville Police Department National Night Out, TOMORROW! Tuesday, August 3rd at Beecher Community Park!

The evening will be filled with family-fun including:
TOUCH-A-TRUCK
Check out some of our Hometown Heroes' crime fighting vehicles in a Touch-A-Truck event hosted by the Yorkville Police Department!
MEET A HERO!
Families will have a chance to meet and take pictures with Yorkville's Hometown Heroes (Yorkville Police Department) and their favorite Superheroes including Black Widow, Spider-Man, and The Flash!
ACTION PACKED FUN!
The evening will be filled with music and activities that will get the entire family moving and having fun including Superhero Training, Racing the Flash and Dancing with the DJ!
HOTDOGS AVAILABLE!
Hotdogs will be provided by the Yorkville Police Department for families to enjoy during the event, while supplies last.

National Night Out
Cruise Night, August 4th at Riverfront Park

Cruise Night – Wednesday, August 4th, 5pm – 8pm at Riverfront Park!

Come on out to Riverfront Park (131 E Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville) on Wednesday, August 4th from 5-8pm for the 2nd Cruise Night of the Summer! Take a walk down memory lane as you view classic cars and listen to music along the Fox River!  Interested in bringing your classic car? Simply arrive to the park around 5pm, park and have your chance at winning the Best in Show (Car & Truck Categories) for the night! Pre-registration is not required, and day-of registration is free. Park Snapshot – Fox Hill Parks

Come out to Fox Hill Parks on the west side of Yorkville just south of Route 34 in the Fox Hill Development as they provide several outdoor recreation amenities for you to enjoy year-round!
 
Fox Hill East Park - 1474 Sycamore Road, Yorkville 
This park features a playground for children ages 5-12 and has picnic tables available to rest or have a picnic. It also features a baseball field with backstop for drop-in and organized play offered through the Recreation Department. There is a full court basketball court for a true one-on-one or five-on-five game. The park also features a small walking trail connecting all amenities throughout the park that is great for walking pets, jogging or a small bike ride!
 
Fox Hill West Park - 1711 John Street, Yorkville
This Park features Yorkville’s only disk golf course. The course traverses the park space and will challenge both the beginner and experienced disc golfer. A few of the holes are in and along the wooded Rob Roy Creek. There is a bridge over the Rob Roy Creek to fish or provides a scenic place to relax.  A pedestrian trail runs through the park and connects to the greater Fox Hill trail allowing you to take a walk or go for a run. There is also a baseball field at this park site allowing drop in play or organized play. The park also includes nineteen acres providing plenty of room for your family to play soccer, football or fly a kite.  This park is even fun during the winter months as kids of all ages can utilize the slopped sledding hill.
