4th of July Activities

Join us for the 64th Annual 4th of July Celebration!
Below is a summary of events:

-Parade: Starts at 9 AM near the high school off of Game Farm Road.  You do not need to inform the committee of your participation within the parade. All floats should show up at the Yorkville High School the morning of the parade starting at 7:30am. 

-Town Square activities begin immediately after the parade and end at noon. Activities include children's foot races, rides, water fights, and a performance by the Yorkville Community Band. 

- Fireworks begin at dusk and will be shot off near the corner of Route 47 and Countryside Parkway. The Yorkville Big Band will also be performing at 8:00pm at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home.

All 4th of July activities are free to everyone, except for food and drink purchases.  We do appreciate and welcome donations to help support this long standing community event. Donations are accepted online or by check. Checks can be made out and mailed to: United City of Yorkville (800 Game Farm Rd, Yorkville IL 60560).  Please write "4th of July" in the memo line.  All donations are tax deductible.

Green's Filling Station Park

Park Snapshot - Green's Filling Station Park (2736 Autumn Creek Boulevard)

This park is centrally located within Yorkville in the Autumn Creek Subdivision.  This is a transportation themed playground intended for children ages 5-12 and named after the Green Family who owned the local service station for several generations in Yorkville.  This is a unique park in that it has a small bike trail around and through the playground symbolizing roads, and even has working stoplights!  This park also features a baseball field, shelter with picnic tables, skateboard elements, a sled hill, trails, and plenty of open space making this a perfect location for birthday parties, a family get together, or an afternoon out with the kids.  

Yorkville River Fest

Yorkville River Fest July 13 & 14

Join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department and the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce for the 2018 Yorkville River Fest scheduled for Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 at Riverfront Park (131 E Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville IL).  The Yorkville River Fest is a family-friendly festival providing fun all weekend long including delicious food, live country music, family activities, the Whitewater Festival, Whiskey Acres Tasting, and more! 
 
Don’t miss out on this year’s County Music line up including Nashville Electric Company on Friday, July 13 from 7:00-10:00pm, and on Saturday, July 14 with County Line Brothers from Noon-2:00pm, Back Country Roads from 3:00-6:00pm, and Whiskey Romance headlining from 7:00-10:00pm.

Yorkville Farmer's Market

Yorkville Farmer's Market - Every Saturday

Come to Town Square Park and visit the Yorkville Farmer's Market! The Market will run every Saturday through August 25th from 9 A.M. - 1 P.M. It will be stocked with fresh produce and products from local farmers and businesses! Come out and enjoy home grown organic produce, local meats and eggs, local honey, handcrafted items, garden goods, home décor and even get a henna tattoo. City Office's Closed - July 4th 

Have a safe and fun Fourth of July! City Offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th. Garbage services will also be adjusted for the remainder of the week.

Garbage Delay - Independence Day Holiday

Due to Fourth of July on Wednesday, garbage pick-up will be delayed by one day this week. For example if your garbage normally is collected on Wednesday, it will be collected on Thursday instead. Call Advanced Disposal at 630-587-8282 with any questions.
