#DowntownYorkville
The City of Yorkville will conduct an interactive public workshop TONIGHT, Thursday, February 15th at 5:30 p.m. in the Yorkville High School Library, 797 Game Farm Road, regarding our downtown planning efforts. The meeting will be facilitated by Farr Associates and will discuss a Downtown Overlay District, the value of urban design, street and building character, and scale of development. The idea of a Downtown Overlay District stems from The Yorkville Plan, a 2016 comprehensive plan update for the City, which identified revitalizing Downtown Yorkville into a thriving mixed-use district as a priority.
Participants in the workshop will be asked their opinions in multiple ways, including electronic preference polling, dots-on-spots-style presentation boards, links to the website and a question and answer session. Community involvement is a significant factor in the outcome of the Downtown Overlay District. Public participation is encouraged!
