Parking on city streets in the United City of Yorkville is prohibited after a snowfall of more than 2 inches, residents are reminded that parking is banned for 24 hours after the snowfall has ended. Thank you for your cooperation during these winter months!

I Love My Grandparents!

Join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department and Senior Services on Saturday, February 17^th from 8am – 9:30am at the Beecher Community Center (908 Game Farm Road) for a day filled with food, fun, and games. This will be a great chance for grandchildren and grandparents to make life long memories while celebrating the bond between grandchildren and grandparents! This event costs $6 per person which includes a light breakfast, crafts, games, and priceless memories for every grandparent and grandchild to take with them. Park Board Members Wanted

Do you have ideas on how to make Yorkville a better community? Are you looking for ways to give back? Do you have a passion for community parks and programs? If so, then you should join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Board! The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Board is an advisory board to the City Council with members being appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. It is the mission of the Parks and Recreation Board to review, discuss, and recommend action on items concerning the Parks and Recreation services, purchases, and future planning while working closely with the Director of Parks and Recreation. Meetings are held monthly on the second Thursday of the month. Park Board members are expected to attend all meetings and encouraged to be involved within the Yorkville Community and the programs the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department provide. A major goal of the award-winning 2016 United City of Yorkville Comprehensive Plan Update was creating a shared identity and sense of belonging among residents, many of whom live outside the historic core of the City in new developments. Promoting and enhancing downtown as the civic anchor of the City is a strong strategy to help with this goal. Over the next several months, the City and its consultant, Farr Associates, will work on developing Yorkville’s Downtown Overlay District Plan utilizing a series of informal public workshop activities to gather the community’s ideas and visions for the future downtown. We’d like to invite you to the first public workshop on February 15^th at the Yorkville High School Library from 5:30pm – 7pm.
