Kick off the holiday season with the Yorkville Holiday Celebration on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18! This two-day celebration provides fun and holiday cheer for the entire family!

*American Legion Fireworks Viewing Party (dusk to the end of the fireworks show)

We are seeking your help in spreading some Holiday cheer for the Rudolph Runners & Jingle Joggers and Walkers by decorating your house and yard by Saturday, November 18! Yorkville Holiday Celebration Parade, Friday, November 17^th at 6:30pm at Riverfront Park (131 E. Hydraulic)

Join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department this year at the Yorkville Holiday Celebration in downtown Yorkville as we spread some holiday cheer with a Parade starting at 6:30pm. The parade will begin at the corner of Hydraulic Ave and Mill Street, proceed West down Hydraulic Avenue, and end at Route 47. We ask all parade spectators to view the parade on the North side of Hydraulic Ave along the sidewalk of Riverfront Park. Anyone is eligible to have a float within the parade and all interested participants are encouraged to contact the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department to confirm a space within the parade. Floats will be accepted the day of the parade as space allows and are encouraged to have lights illuminating their float as it will be dark during the parade.

City Offices Closed in Observance of Thanksgiving

City offices will be closed Thursday, November 23^rd and Friday, November 24^th for Thanksgiving. Normal hours will resume on Monday, November 27^th.

Garbage Pick-Up Delayed Due to Thanksgiving

Due to Thanksgiving, garbage pick-up will be delayed by one day due to Thanksgiving. For example, if your garbage normally is collected on Thursday, it will be collected on Friday instead. Call Groot at 630-892-9294 with any questions.

Breakfast With Santa! December 2^nd from 8:30am – 10:00am at the Beecher Community Building (908 Game Farm Road)

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department and Senior Services invite you and your family to join us for Breakfast with Santa! For $8 per person, families will enjoy a hot breakfast, games, crafts, activities, AND A VISIT FROM SANTA! Families will have time for a short visit with Santa so be sure to bring your camera! Private Visits with Santa, December 8^th from 5 -8pm and December 9^th from 9am – 1pm at the Recreation Office (201 W. Hydraulic Avenue)

Avoid the lines, noisy crowds, and rushed encounters this year! The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is offering your family the chance to have a private visit with Santa!

For $20 per family, you will enjoy a 15-minute private encounter with Santa to check the wish lists, take pictures (professional photography not available), and make the holiday season extra magical! Letters to Santa!

Santa is checking his list and wants to hear from YOU this Holiday Season! Please send your letter (include age and gender) to Santa by Monday, December 13. Santa will then read your letter and send a response by Saturday, December 24!

Yorkville Public Library Mini golf FUN Raiser – SAVE THE DATE – Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 10am – 4pm at the Library (902 Game Farm Road)

Looking for a fun way to stay warm while you get out of the house? Look no further than the Yorkville Public Library Mini Golf FUN Raiser on Sunday, February 4 from 10am-4pm! With 18 uniquely themed holes of mini golf played inside the library, this event will have golfers of all ages swinging for joy. At only $5 per golfer for one round of mini golf, it's an affordable way to have a blast while supporting a great cause. All proceeds from the event go towards purchasing books for the library and funding free programs at the library throughout the year through the Friends of the Yorkville Public Library.
