Budget Update

Public Hearing: Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Budget, March 23rd

The United City of Yorkville will hold and conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2021-2022 Annual Budget.  This hearing will be held at the City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2020, in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 800 Game Farm Road, Yorkville, IL  60560. This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard during the budget process. Development Update

Development Update

The fall/winter of 2020-2021 was quite busy for new construction and residential development. From September 2020 through February 2021, the City processed approximately 700 building permits. This included 202 new home construction permits consisting of 132 single-family detached and 70 single-family attached (townhomes) units. The subdivisions with the most construction activity during this time was Grande Reserve, Raintree Village, Townes at Kendall Marketplace and Prestwick at Ashley Pointe. New commercial projects opened, under construction or approved include: Popeye’s Chicken (restaurant) in Menards Commons; Verizon Wireless (stand-alone retail building) and Smoothie King (beverage shop) in Kendall Marketplace; and Dunkin Donuts (restaurant) within the Gas ‘N Wash development. Future commercial openings under review also includes a new restaurant, Silver Fox, which is a remodel of the former Blackstone building in Heartland Center.
 
Finally, the City Council approved a text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to permit legally non-conforming signs to add digital message boards and authorized final plat approvals for new townhomes within the Townes at Kendall Marketplace and Grande Reserve subdivisions.
