Trunk or Treat Trail - Saturday, October 24th, 10am - 2pm - Riverfront ParkThe Yorkville Chamber’s annual Biz Boo! Business Trick-or-Treat is back, with businesses welcoming families for treats and fun activities. Some new formats and guidelines will be in place, so watch for a list of participating businesses that will be published. Businesses may sign up by contacting: support@yorkvillechamber.org. Families will check out the creative, spooky and fun vehicle designs as they line the Eastern most end of Riverfront Park! Treat bags filled with goodies will be given to each child as they enter the event as individual vehicles will not be passing out candy. Want to join the fun and decorate a trunk for the event? Please email the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department at Recreation@yorkville.il.us to secure your spot and receive additional information.

Flags of Valor - Support Form Now Available!The Yorkville American Legion Post 489 invites you to honor our nation and the veterans who have served with the 2020 Yorkville Flags of Valor as American Flags are displayed at Town Square (301 N Bridge, Yorkville) during the week of Veterans Day. This is an opportunity to recognize and honor a veteran in your life or support the hundreds of veterans in Yorkville and Kendall County. Everyone is welcome to participate. A flag can be sponsored for $30 and will include a keepsake ribbon and personalized tag to honor a veteran (optional). All proceeds will be donated to the Yorkville American Legion Post 489. Brush Pick-Up Reminder - October 19thIn order to provide the best service possible, we ask residents to please follow the below guidelines for brush pick-up:
- All brush must be stacked parallel to the curb or street. Staff will be using tractors to pick up brush, if it is not stacked parallel to the street or curb, it will not be picked up.
- All brush should be stacked where it is free from obstacles such as fire hydrants, parkway trees, mailboxes, etc.
- Staff will NOT pick-up entire trees or bushes/shrubs
- No yard waste will be picked up, including yard waste in bags.
- No lumber, fencing, or any other foreign materials will be picked up.
Staff asks that if your brush pile fits into a yard waste bag, that you use a yard waste bag and place it out for pick-up on your normal garbage day. Thank you for your cooperation!

October 26 - 30 - Advanced Disposal Amnesty Week - White Goods/Bulk ItemsThe week of October 26th is White Goods/Bulk Items Amnesty Week. This is the second pick-up Advanced Disposal conducts (1 in the spring and 1 in the fall) annually. Please note that all White Goods/Bulk items must be on the curb by 6 a.m. on your regular garbage day. Only 1 pass will be made. During your normal garbage day, you may place out for collection an unlimited amount of white goods and bulk items for no additional charge. Leaf Pick-Up ReminderMark your calendars! The City Leaf Pick-Up will be in the first half of November. November 9 – 13 (north of the Fox River) November 16 – 20 (south of the Fox River) Please have leaves on the curb by 7am on the Monday of your pick-up week.
