50/50 Parkway Tree Program

50/50 Parkway Tree Program - Now Accepting Applications!

The 50/50 Parkway Tree Program has begun for 2022. Through the program, the City shares the cost of planting trees with homeowners.  The planting will occur in the spring of each year, following the close of the application process in April 2023.  All orders must be received, accompanied by full payment, by end of business day Friday, April 7, 2023, for inclusion in the 2022 Tree Program. Yorktober Fest!

Join the Excitement & Create A Scarecrow! 

Coming this October! The Scarecrow Walk is back this Fall, and we are inviting YOU to show off your creativity and submit a scarecrow! Individual families and businesses are encouraged and welcome to participate. Scarecrows can be simple, extravagant, spooky or fun – be creative! Please note all scarecrows must be family friendly. If interested, submit your proposed design to Recreation@yorkville.il.us. All scarecrows must be submitted on Monday, September 26 to the Recreation Office (201 W Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville) from Noon-4:30pm.
The Scarecrow Walk is in the woods on the Eastern end of Riverfront Park (131 E Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville) and will be available beginning September 30th throughout the month of October.

Halloween Egg Hunt – Friday, October 21st at Town Square Park!

Come on out to one of Yorkville’s favorite Halloween Traditions! The Halloween Egg Hunt is FRIDAY, October 21 starting promptly at 7pm at Town Square Park (301 N Bridge St, Yorkville)! Kids ages 10 and under can wear their costumes, bring a flashlight and container for eggs, and hunt in the darkness for toy-filled eggs! No registration is required. For questions, contact the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department at Recreation@yorkville.il.us
