Citizens Police Academy

The Yorkville Police Department would like to invite you to participate in the Yorkville Citizen’s Police Academy. This 10-week program will allow you to interact with and experience the inner workings of YOUR police department. A copy of the application for the Citizen's Police Academy can be found here.

A variety of topics will be covered during the 10-week program, including:

  • Patrol Tactics/Traffic Enforcement
  • Crime Scene Investigation (CSI)
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)
  • Narcotics Enforcement
  • Street Gang
  • Special Response Team (SWAT)
  • Court Procedures/Criminal Law/Juvenile Law

The Citizens Police Academy program is designed for anyone who is interested in helping keep our community safe and crime free. Our goal is to foster a strong relationship/partnership with our community members by showing you what we do and explaining why we do it.

The Yorkville CPA is open to any City resident or business owner/employee located inside the United City of Yorkville. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. This is a free class, with class sizes limited to 20 participants.
