Taste of Yorkville

Saturday, January 11th, 2020; 2pm-5pm
Yorkville Middle School(920 Prairie Crossing, Yorkville)

Celebrate diversity and travel the world WITHOUT LEAVING YORKVILLE! This family friendly event will demonstrate and celebrate the different cultures within the Yorkville School District. Join our travel excursion and fill your passport as you visit different booths, each showcasing a different culture. As you visit each booth to learn more about each country, booth sponsors will stamp your passport. Kids and families will have a chance to enter a raffle to ear prizes after they fill their passport.Enjoy live performances from Yorkville area bands, teams, and organizations.

20 different countries and cultures will  be represented at this event including:

Live Performances

The day will feature live performances in the District 115 Auditorium from the YMS and YHS Step team, Taekwondo Korea Center, and a Mariachi student Mariachi Band from West Chicago. In addition several students will feature multicultural music in the cafeteria throughout the day and can be heard as you visit each booth. Book Fair

Expand your library at the pop up book fair from Lectorum who will be selling a variety of authentic Spanish and bilingual books for all ages. In addition Yorkville School District faculty will be selling their published works at their hosted booths throughout the event. The book fair will be available all day in the YMS Library so be sure to stop by!
