Thurs., July 29 7 p.m.	Kendall County Planning Consortium meeting The Kendall County Planning Consortium will discuss Wind Turbine Energy Generators within the Community during their regular meeting on Thursday, July 29, 7 p.m. at the Minooka Village Hall, 121 E. Thurs., July 29 4-7 p.m.	Rt. 71 Informational Meeting Representatives from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be on hand to answer questions and receive residents comments regarding the Rt. 71 road construction project between Rt. 47 in Yorkville and Orchard Road in Oswego. The open house will be held on Thursday, July 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Yorkville Public Library, 902 Game Farm Road.
Sat., July 31 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.	Community Playground Build Make a difference in your community! The United City of Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is seeking volunteers 18 years of age and over to participate in the next Community Park Build on Saturday, July 31, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Bristol Bay Park A., 4552 Rosenwinkel Drive. Bristol Bay Park A is Yorkville’s first circus theme park and includes two play structures, swings, a shade structure, and a picnic area. Volunteers are needed to help construct play equipment, spread mulch, pour concrete, and plant landscaping. This is a great way to get involved in your community, meet new people, and have fun while doing it. No experience is necessary! Register early for a T-shirt! Tues., Aug. 3 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.	National Night Out/Outdoor Movie Night This annual celebration honors neighborhoods throughout the U.S.and promotes spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. Join the Yorkville Police Department, the Citizens Police Academy Alumni and the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department for an evening of games, family activities, food, demonstrations, meeting new friends and much more. Wed., Aug. 25 1 p.m.	Afternoon Movie Series Join Yorkville's Senior Services Associates, Inc. on Wednesday, August 25, 1 p.m. for movie and popcorn at the Beecher Community Center, 908 Game Farm Road in Yorkville. The movie for the month of August is 'The Blind Side', the story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All-American football player and first-round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family.
