       This year, we are focusing our efforts on the new Marge Cline Whitewater Course —a state-of-the-art kayak/canoe chute located in the heart of our downtown area on the Fox River at Bicentennial Riverfront Park.

      You're also invited to visit us throughout the year for our many festivals and celebrations such as Music Under the Stars, our annual Fourth of July celebration, National Night Out, the 22nd Annual Hometown Days Festival, and Holiday Under the Stars. Community Speak-Out

The City is currently in the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan and we are holding our first community event.  Join the conversation as we discuss several issues throughout the City. The speak-out will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 6 to 8PM and will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall.  Click here for more information.


New Builder/Developer Incentives

On October 28, 2014, the City Council voted to adopt 2 new incentive programs geared toward the construction of new homes by builders and developers in Yorkville. The RENEW program will now be available for a limited number of qualifying new single-family residential building permits for the following programs:

Speculative Homes: A maximum of 30 permits will be issued to qualifying builders/developers for the construction of a spec home and rebate 50% of the City’s portion of the building permit fees.


Model Homes: A maximum of 15 permits will be issued to qualifying builders/developers for the construction of a model home and rebate 100% of the City’s portion of the building permit fees.

B.U.I.L.D. Program

Come out and take a walk down memory lane as you view classic cars along the river on the
first Wednesday of the month June through September! Vehicle registration will begin at 6:00pm.

Lighten Up

The United City of Yorkville and the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is challenging Yorkville Residents to “Lighten Up!” Lighten Up is a weight loss competition that will help you get healthy, fit, and fabulous this summer! All you have to do is complete the registration form including your current weight by Monday, June 1. You then will begin your weight loss journey to compete for the greatest percentage of weight loss by August 28. The top three winners will be announced and given awards at Hometown Days.

June 1: All Registrations Turned in with Current Weight
July 18 (Ribs on the River): Announcement of the Top Three along with other fun statistics
August 28: All final weights are submitted. The top three winners will come in for final weigh in to confirm weight.
September 5: Announcements made at Hometown Days (Awards Given)
