If you have a question or would like to make a comment about a topic on a meeting agenda, attending a City Council meeting is a great opportunity to get your voice heard.

The following is a summary of City Council meeting times and locations. You can also check the United City of Yorkville meeting calendar.

To be considered for a commission or committee, please complete an application and return to the Deputy Clerk at United City of Yorkville, 800 Game Farm Road, Yorkville, IL 60560.

City Council:
City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. It is during City Council meetings where a final vote is taken on many projects presented to the city. Many times a public hearing will be held during a City Council meeting. It is at this time that community members are able to speak their opinion. However, due to the length of City Council meetings and the development process, many of the major issues with a project may have already been resolved in a committee meeting.

Standing Committees of the City Council:
The four standing committees of Yorkville's City Council are the Administration Committee, the Economic Development Committee, the Public Works Committee and the Public Safety Committee. These committees conduct meetings on various evenings throughout the month. Committees meet in the conference room at City Hall, 800 Game Farm Road. The meetings are open to the public.

The Administration Committee meets on the third Thursday evening of the month at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall. The Economic Development Committee meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. The Public Works Committee meets at 6:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.  The Public Safety Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. meets on the first Thursday of each month. These meetings are the first stop for items to be discussed prior to moving on to the City Council meeting to be formally voted on. These discussions are informal and informative and public opinion is welcome.
