City Council:
City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. It is during City Council meetings where a final vote is taken on many projects presented to the city. Many times a public hearing will be held during a City Council meeting. It is at this time that community members are able to speak their opinion. However, due to the length of City Council meetings and the development process, many of the major issues with a project may have already been resolved in a committee meeting.
Standing Committees of the City Council:
City Council committee meetings are held on various evenings throughout the month. Committees meet in the Conference room at City Hall. The Public Works Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. The Administration Committee meets at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. The Economic Development Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. The Public Safety Committee meets at 6:00 p.m. meets on the fourth Thursday of each month. These meetings are the first stop for items to be discussed prior to moving on to the City Council meeting to be formally voted on. These discussions are informal and informative and public opinion is welcome.
