Public Works Pick Up Schedule

White Goods Pick up

White Good items consist of refrigerators/freezers, water heaters, stoves, air conditioners, humidifiers, clothes dryers, washers, microwaves, dishwashers, heat pumps, furnaces and boilers. Please note that all White Goods items must be on the curb by 6:00 a.m. Only one pass will be made. The following materials will  not be accepted: auto parts, large construction waste, swimming pools, decks, sheds, chemicals, paints or drums.

Brush Pick Up

Veolia Environmental provides weekly brush pick up on regular service days in conjunction with yard waste pick up which begins on April 1 and runs through November 30. Please adhere to Veolia's guidelines for bundled brush as follows:

  • Must not exceed four (4) feet in length
  • Weight must not exceed 50 lbs.
  • Brush must be tied with biodegradable fiber twice only (no plastic or wire)

Yard Waste Pick Up

Yard waste is collected from April 1 through November 30. Landscape waste includes grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, flowers, twigs, brush and tree limbs less than 4 inches in diameter and not longer than 4 feet in length. All brush and branches need to be properly contained--bagged, bundled or tied for easy handling.

Christmas Tree Disposal

Veolia Environmental Services collects and recycles Christmas trees free of charge the first two weeks in January. Trees will be pick up on resident's regular pick up day only. Any trees left on the curb after the two-week time period expires will require a garbage sticker.

United City of Yorkville Recycling Information

E-waste Recycling

Electronics and e-waste can be dropped off at the city's Public Works facility, 610 Tower Lane during the hours of 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents are no longer required to come to City Hall prior to dropping off items to pay a fee. For more information call 630.553.4370.

Inkjet cartridges and old cell phones

The Yorkville Public Library, 902 Game Farm Rd., accepts inkjet cartridges and old cell phones at their recycling kiosk located on the first floor adjacent to the elevators. The Recycling Center is a cooperative effort between the Forest Foundation of Kendall County and benefits the Kendall County Forest Preserve District. For more information call 630.553.4354.
Medication Recycling/Disposal

This program has been temporarily suspended.
