Parks and Recreation Special Events
The United City of Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is active in sponsoring several special events throughout the year for the enjoyment of Yorkville residents and surrounding communities. Join us for one, two or all of the many activities in the city of Yorkville. There are months of fun in Yorkville for you and your family. throughout the summer including Jazz, Rock, Big Band and much more! For more

Wine Nights Information
Hosted by the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department and
Cobblestone. Back by popular demand! Once again we will be offering Wine and
Music on three selected evenings during Music Under the Stars. Bring a lawn
chair, your dinner and kick back with a classic glass of wine and great music.
Cobblestone will offer two to three different red and white wines during the
evening. For $5 you will receive a souvenir glass. Wine Tasting tickets may be
purchased for $1. Additional glasses of wine are $5 each. Bottles may be
purchased (prices may vary). You must be 21 to consume or purchase alcohol. No
wine will be allowed to leave the park.

Parade:
- Parade line up at Yorkville High School is from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00
a.m.
- Parade will start at 9:00 a.m.
- Parade route as follows: Game Farm
Road, Somonauk Street,
King Street, West Main Street, Church Street. Will end
at the
water tower.
Town Square Park Activites:

Following the Parade @ Town Square Park till 1pm
- Food/Drink will be
available for purchase.

Fireworks will begin at Dusk
- The
fireworks will be shot off of/around Rt. 47 and
Countryside Parkway. Just
south of Menards.
- The Yorkville Big Band will be performing at 7:00 p.m.
at
Larson-Nelson Funeral Home

for a day of whitewater fun! Events will include whitewater kayak mini-lessons,

Before the annual Egg
Hunt, come out an enjoy hayrides, pumpkin decorating (1 per family), pizza
slices (small fee - Rosati's), "HOWL"ween pet contest and
more from 5-8pm. At 8pm we will start the annual Halloween Egg Hunt. It’s a
twist on an old tradition. Sweet prizes await you! Wear your costumes, bring a
flashlight and container for your eggs. Please stay on the sidewalks until we
start the hunt! Toddlers will go first and every few minutes we will send the
next group, ending with the oldest children. 10 eggs per child.

We're kicking off the holiday season this
year with a traditional tree lighting ceremony, food, holiday fun
activites,
Santa’s workshop with a visit from Santa and to the end the evening with a
holiday fireworks show on Saturday Nov. 23. This is one holiday event you surely
won't want to miss! This year's seventh annual Holiday Under the Stars is bigger
and better than ever. The Kris Kringle Market--a variety of kiosks featuring
crafts, gifts, holiday items and more to get you started with your holiday
shopping. Vendor booth space is available for $25 all evening long! To rent
booth space for the Kris Kringle Market or to inquire about sponsorship

after the race with a hot bowl of chili. Pre-registration fee: $25 w/shirt; $20

benefit the Parks and Recreation special recreation programs.
