Zoning Ordinance

The United City of Yorkville has begun the process of updating the City's Zoning Ordinance following the recent approval of the City's Comprehensive Plan.  While there have been many individual text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance over the years, a revision of the entire ordinance has not been done since the Zoning Ordinance was approved in 1974.

A Zoning Ordinance Commission has been appointed by Mayor Burd and the City Council to revise and update the current zoning ordinance.  The Zoning Ordinance Commission will prepare zoning ordinance recommendations, conduct a public hearing(s) to allow the public to review and comment on the recommended updates, and present a final recommendation for City Council consideration.  Individuals serving on the Zoning Ordinance Commission represent the various interests and unique perspectives which make up the United City of Yorkville.

A timeline has been established has been established as part of the update process.  Please click here to view the timeline which includes upcoming commission meeting dates, meeting agendas, meeting summaries, and reference materials.
