The Clerk's Office of the United City of Yorkville maintains the centralized records of the city, with the exception of police records, which are maintained by the Police Department. Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, all public records not exempt under Section 7 of the Act must be made available for inspection or copying. In order to do this, it may be necessary to complete a Freedom of Information Act Request form that is also available by calling City Hall. The Clerk's Office will respond to the request within five business days. Requests being made for commercial purposes will be responded to within 21 business days. Fees for the reproduction and certifying of the public records may be charged. All United City of Yorkville ordinances are codified to our Code Book with the exception of ordinances regarding annexation, rezoning, variances, bond issues and the annual budget.
