Demographics - Population Statistics Population—Past, current and projected The United City of Yorkville experienced record growth beginning in the year 2000 and continuing through the year 2008. Between 2005 and 2007, the city was located in one of the fastest growing counties in the United States according to the Census Bureau. Kendall County added 42,258 people from 2000 to 2007. The 77.5% increase put the population at 96,818 and in 2007 edged out Flagler County, Fla., as the fastest-growing county with 10,000 or more people. The results of a 2005 Special Census put the United City of Yorkville’s population at 11,204. Yorkville's current population as a result of a 2008 special census is 16,838. It was in 2004 and 2006 that Kendall County was named the second fastest growing county in the country by the U.S. Census Bureau. In 2005 we were number three! And in 2006 we were number one!
