About the Festival

The 2016 Hometown Days Festival is a family oriented event that provides entertainment the entire family can enjoy!  We are excited to bring back again this year the past favorites such as the Pride and Joy Car Show, the Baby Contest, carnival, and live musical performances. We are currently working on the 2016 band schedule so please check back at a later date for more details. We are also excited to announce the return of a crowd 2015 crowd favorite – The Ultimate Air Dogs Show! Carnival


The 2016 carnival is provided by DRS Skinner's Amusements. For more information on DRS Skinners' Amusements please visit their website. The carnival will run from 5 pm-10 pm on Friday, September 2nd and from 1 pm-10 pm on Saturday, September 3rd and Sunday, September 4th. 


Ultimate Air Dogs Competition

 
Enjoy a spectacular show of courage and athletics, from dogs and their owners as they jump off a dock after a Frisbee into a pool of water. Come as a spectator or compete with your own dog! Open jump time is available on Friday, September 4th from 5-7 pm. The competition begins on Saturday, September 2 and ends on Sunday, September 4. Competitor registration is taken online at the Ultimate Air Dogs Website. All dogs are welcome; they only have to know how to swim. Craft Beer Tasting

Come try some local craft beers on Saturday, September 3rd from Noon until 4 pm. The tasting will cost $10 for a souvenir glass and 10 tasting tickets. Each additional tasting ticket will cost $1.


Yorkville Junior Women's Club Craft Show

This 2 day event will be held on Saturday from noon - 6 pm and on Sunday from 11 am-6 pm at the festival grounds(908 Game Farm Rd, Yorkville). For more information or to become a craft show vendor please contact the Teresa Wedeen by phone at 630-605-1546 or by email

Car Show


The Pride and Joy Car Show brings in over 100 cars annually. The show is hosted by a live DJ and features classic cars of a variety of makes and models. Each car entered in the show is put into a specific category based on make, model, the year it was manufactured, and if it has had any alterations.To pre-register for the Pride and Joy Car Show please complete the registration form and return it to the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department at 201 W Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville, Illinois, 60560. Volunteering


The Parks and Recreation Department is always looking for volunteers to help with this massive event. Volunteering is a great way to build a sense of community and helping your local Parks and Recreation Department. Vendors and Exhibitors


The 24th annual Hometown Days Committee is currently accepting application for vendors and exhibitors for the 2016 festival. If you are interested in being a vendor or exhibitor please download and complete the vendor application. Completed applications with payment can be returned to the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department(201 W Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville, Illinois, 60560) or emailed to Shay at sremus@yorkville.il.us. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee entrance into the festival. Once received applications will be reviewed by the Hometown Days Committee and vendors will receive mail correspondence confirming or denying their acceptance to the festival once a decision is made.
